Hurt & Healing Prize

DETAILS: The winning poet, selected by one distinguished judge, will be awarded $3000, publication on Frontier Poetry. Second and third place will win $300 & $200 respectively, as well as publication. The top ten finalists will also be recognized.
Chapbook Contest
March — May 2023
DETAILS: We love the intensity and simplicity of a good chapbook, and we're excited that this Chapbook Prize will offer the opportunity for the winning poet to publish and distribute their little book to thousands of readers for free. Open to all poets, the winner will receive publication of a digital chapbook by Frontier as well as a $2000 prize.

Frontier OPEN
May — July, 2023
DETAILS: The Frontier OPEN is our largest prize contest of the year, and in our pursuit to recognize today's best poets, we want to celebrate one outstanding piece of poetry, OPEN to all poets, with a $5000 award and publication. Ten finalists will also receive $100 each and all winners will earn publication with Frontier Poetry. The Frontier staff will select the winners and finalists.
Frontier Nature & Place Prize
July — Sept, 2022
DETAILS: A panel of judges will make the selections for the Award for New Poets, all drawn from stunning debut poets who are trailblazing a new poetry community. The winning poet will be awarded $3000, publication on Frontier Poetry. Second and third place will win $300 & $200 respectively, as well as publication. The top ten finalists will also be recognized. Judges tbd.
Summer Poetry Lab

Global Poetry Contest
Sept — Nov 2023
DETAILS: We are so excited to create space specifically for poets whose identity has deep ties to regions outside the US. We're seeking to award three poets $1000 each: one from India & South Asia, judged by Tarfia Faizullah; one from Europe, judged by Aira Aber; and one from Africa, judged by Saddiq Dzukogi.
New Voices Poetry
Year-Round
DETAILS: We also highly encourage you to submit your poetry for free to our New Voices, open year-round. We pay our emerging NV poets $50 per poem (up to $150), published every Friday.
