Another trip around the sun, another opportunity to do something new: 2018 is going to be a good year, full of assertive hope and reckless joy—like a puppy with a shotgun.

Make sure to check out our Calendar page for our contest schedule for 2018—up next is our digital Chapbook prize. We love the intensity and simplicity of a good chapbook, and we’re excited that this Chapbook Prize will offer an emerging poet the opportunity to publish a robust collection of their work. Open to emerging poets, the winner will receive publication of a digital chapbook by Frontier, distribution through our email list, and a $2000 prize.
By late February, we’ll plan to have the winners for the 2017 Frontier OPEN ready to announce—so many wonderful submissions are being enjoyed by our readers right now. Thank you poets for entrusting us with your work!
We’re also excited to have on our New Voices schedule wonderful poets like Jeff Pearson, Stacy Boe Miller, Rachel Bower, Nat Myers, and the incredible Carol Potter.
Keep an eye on our Editor’s Talk series, as we’ve got Greg Brownderville—editor of ever-impressive The Southwest Review—as well as the poetry editor of Crazyhorse, Emily Rosko, and Don Share of Poetry coming in the spring.
Take a look at our SUBMITTABLE page soon and you’ll also find an exciting new opportunity for 2018. We are opening the Frontier Fellowship to one late-blooming poet, 50 years or older, who has not yet published a collection of poetry. Free to apply—we’ll select the Fellow later in the spring.
